Pyments Xmas Bash: 2009

As practice got underway Dick Dastardly was practicing his nudging technique whilst others tried to get to grips with a flyover section and absolutely no grip from the painted track surface.

After many a spin & a few encounters with the tire wall it was time for the racing to begin.

In Heat 1 Tim & Adam had an early dispute over the lead, both dropped to the back after heavy contact at the hairpin leaving themselves plenty of work to do in the remaining races. They would not be the last to see the tyre wall.

As the heats unfolded several things became apparent, Rhiann was feisty & did not like being overtaken and were it not for Dick Dastardly would have finished higher up the order. Lee consistently finished & accrued points, Mark’s head was literally steaming, traffic light red and ready to explode as he gave it everything, Rob was now definitely ready for the pub, Andy was beating everybody as he needed to & avoiding Dick Dastardly, Stu was quietly doing very well, Dan found that a bit of extra ballast on a slippery surface was no bad thing, Adam was busy rescuing his points tally by driving very quickly whilst Tim dispelled the myth of never forgetting how to ride a bicycle by being rubbish & not making it through to the final.

The Final was played out to a background of grumbling about Dick Dastardly, kart performance or lack of it and general hard luck stories. Andy started from the front followed by a still steaming Mark, Adam, Stu, Lee, Dick Dastardly, Alan  & Dan.

Mark had obviously now run out of steam & fell back down the order no doubt helped by Dick Dastardly, Adam ran second with Stu moving into a podium position.

Andy survived a late attack by Dick whilst lapping him to win (as he needed to). Adam made it a CVA 1-2 & Stu stormed up to third. Trophies were presented & questions asked about Andy as no one had seen him take his dark visor helmet off during the whole event, could he have made a switch with the real Stig?

The remainder of the day was spent in the pub reliving each race incident, apportioning blame and making excuses as per the official David Coulthard book of excuses.
