Mansells it's a Knockout!: 2nd August 2008



The stage was set for Pyments Ltd - AKA "Custard Pyments" to make an impression in the Mansells Centenary "It's a Knockout" competition against 17 other teams which was a Charity event on behalf of Mary Stevens Hospice.

Sure enough we certainly made a quick impression in the first event "ski walk" whereby it would be fair to say we were woeful not even moving the 4-man ski team more than six inches. Needless to say we came last.

With grit determination we redeemed ourselves in the "Chicken run" event blowing away the competition whilst still retaining a certain degree of dignity dressed up as overweight smelly chickens.

Throughout the rest of the day Pyments held their own winning 3 other events, including our Joker getting cheated out of another and losing the remaining 2 events.

Finally after battling against various events including giant soapy inflatable's,  demolition balls and mine fields incurring strains, bruises and general tiredness  Pyments came a respectable 7 out of 18.

The charity event was a great success and our thanks go out to Mansells Construction Services for organising it and hopefully we didn't embarrass ourselves too much to prevent us being invited next year.
